Start Your Strength Journey

Through our Rebuilding Mum & Dad series, we’ve shown something many people still believe isn’t possible:

You can rebuild strength and even improve bone health density at any stage in life.

Muscle is one of the most important organs for healthy aging. It supports metabolic health, balance, mobility, bone strength, brain health and our ability to remain independent as we grow older.

Because we naturally begin losing muscle from around our 30s onwards, building and maintaining strength is CRUCIAL.

But even if you’ve already been diagnosed with osteopenia or osteoporosis, it’s not too late to take action.

The most effective way to support both muscle and bone is through progressive resistance training — gradually and safely increasing load over time, ideally with expert guidance, especially to start.

My Recommended Strength Programs

There are two programs I have personal experience of and highly recommend:

Kaari Prehab Kaari is a 13-week, evidence-based online strength program for women looking to improve bone health. It is designed to improve strength, boost bone density and reduce fracture risk.

The program includes progressive resistance training, mobility and yoga using easily stored equipment like dumbbells.

It can be done at home, anywhere in the world under the guidance of experienced coaches. There is a strong focus on safety, education and proper progression — especially for women who may feel nervous about starting strength training after a diagnosis of osteopenia or osteoporosis. 🔗 Click here to explore the Kaari Program

and

Starting Strength My parents (both in their 80s) train with the Starting Strength program using a barbell and rack in my garage gym, supported through online coaching from an expert coach.

Starting Strength is a progressive barbell strength program open to all, built around the squat, press, bench press and deadlift, using small, consistent increases in weight to build strength, muscle and bone mass safely and effectively.

Whether you train at home or in a Starting Strength gym, the focus is on expert coaching, proper technique and measurable progress at every age and ability level. 🔗 Click here to explore Starting Strength
