Over the past 25 years of my career in journalism and content creation I’ve trained and coached both media colleagues and business clients, and in 2022 was named Journalism Trainer of the Year at the Women in Local News Awards.
I’ve worked with some of the UK’s biggest news organisations, including the Press Association, Reach Plc and the BBC, and have a wealth of expertise to share.
But although I now routinely lead training sessions and present videos and podcasts for large audiences, I spent many years struggling with a lack of confidence and self belief, and I found public speaking terrifying!
So when I’m not creating content, I enjoy coaching others in how to confidently communicate – either on camera or in front of an audience or – and how to connect with audiences to make an impact. Yes, it is possible no matter how nerve-wracking you find it!
I’ve worked with some of the UK’s biggest businesses and institutions, including Prudential, Royal Bank of Scotland, the Scottish Government, Visit Scotland, Scottish Water and NHS 24, with past training clients including People’s Postcode Lottery and Food Standards Scotland.
And I’d love to support you, your business or employees through online or in-person tuition and coaching.
“This session was perfectly pitched for our team; we already had some insight into digital media but Clare’s insight brought a totally different perspective to this area of work. The course was relevant and tailored exactly to our needs.
“The session was really informative and very well delivered, and Clare took time to ensure everyone was fully engaged. We all learned something new and have a number of ideas and actions to progress as a result. I’ve never seen my team so engaged! Thank you.”
