My Husband Loves Beckham’s IM8 Vitamin Drink. But Can It Really Be Worth The Price?!

When the prince of football Sir David Beckham set his sights on the lucrative vitamin market he had a USP in mind.

He wanted to create a daily supplement that contained EVERYTHING you could possibly think of that could be helpful.

The result was his IM8 Daily Essentials powder which contains no less than 90 ingredients. That’s a lot of ‘essentials’!

And it comes with a Beckham price tag too. A one-off 30-day supply will cost you no less than £112/$112, falling to £89 (same in US dollars) per month if you sign up for the subscription.

How To Buy IM8 For Less

Top tip, there is often a 30% offer on orders when you first sign up if you hang around the page long enough.

Next tip. I got cold feet immediately after I placed my first order and signed up for the subscription. When I went to cancel they offered a chunk off the next three months.

I declined first time and got offered an even bigger chunk off – a 30% discount on the next few months. Still expensive, but sold.

Why We Order IM8

I signed up for the subscription because my husband loves the drink and says it’s given him more energy.

At 61, and still working flat out, my husband has been flagging a little lately.

Now he needs to do more than take a vitamin drink to improve his health and fitness – I nag him about diet and exercise all the time – but fighting fatigue daily is not fun.

Could we do something similar for less? You could get very close.

But for the convenience, bundled ingredients and REALLY nice taste (we order the Acai + Mixed Berries), this is a very well formulated drink.

IM8 Ingredients: What’s Good About It?

One thing IM8 gets right is it isn’t just a standard multivitamin in drink form. It has all the buzzy supplements of the moment rolled in.

Vitamins, Minerals and Gut Health

It combines a broad range of vitamins and minerals with ingredients aimed at gut health, immune function, brain health and healthy ageing.

Alongside the usual vitamins A, C, D and the B vitamins you’ll also find minerals like magnesium, zinc and selenium, plus omega-3s, probiotics, digestive enzymes and a selection of plant extracts.

Creatine, CoQ10 and Antioxidants

There are some particularly interesting additions too. Creatine, for example, isn’t just for gym-goers. Research increasingly suggests it may also help support healthy ageing, muscle function and even aspects of cognitive performance as we get older.

It also contains CoQ10, which plays an important role in energy production inside our cells, along with antioxidants such as green tea extract, turmeric and acai that help protect cells from oxidative stress.

Electrolytes and Mixability

Another nice touch is the inclusion of electrolytes including sodium, potassium and magnesium. You’re not getting sports-drink levels, but there is enough to help support hydration alongside the vitamins, making it a more rounded daily drink than many greens powders.

Despite containing so many ingredients, it mixes beautifully, dissolves completely and doesn’t have that gritty, vitamin aftertaste that puts me off so many powdered supplements.

Is it possible to build something similar yourself for less? Probably. But once you start buying high-quality vitamins, probiotics, creatine, minerals and other supplements separately, the convenience of having them all in one nice-tasting drink starts to make a bit more sense.

Is IM8 Worth The Price?

While IM8 contains many ingredients, most are present in relatively modest amounts.

That isn’t necessarily a criticism—there’s only so much you can fit into one scoop—but it’s worth remembering that it’s designed as a broad nutritional insurance policy rather than providing therapeutic doses of every ingredient it contains.

In my husband’s case, something(s) within the drink appears to be giving him a much-needed boost. Isolating that is trickier.

But you could create your own stack incorporating a high-quality multivitamin (I like the one from Inessa shown above), creatine, electrolytes (I take Baja Gold Mineral Sea Salt), magnesium, zinc, selenium, omega-3 and CoQ10 for less.

As far as probiotics go, I find a small amount of kefir (or kimchi if you don’t eat dairy) works wonders for the gut!

So no one should feel they’re missing out by not taking an expensive vitamin drink.

This is useful to have if you’re run-down and/or short on time.

I don’t use it because I have my own little vitamin routine going on, plus I eat a diverse, gut-friendly diet, strength train and exercise so don’t feel I need anything additional right now.

My husband’s in a different situation though.

I see this as a temporary band-aid for him. Considering the price, it will have to be.
